John asks…

Honest people?

I love to let people know how I feel no matter what? I rather be honest to people and just be ‘straight up?’ What do you guys think? Would you rather speak with people that are nice, but talk behind your back and you never know what they think, or speak with people that may not be so nice, but you know where they stand? Let me know guys.

admin answers:

I would rather be honest I cannot stand those fake nice people I would rather they not give me the time of day than act like they like me then talk behind my back. My opinion is that most people on this site are fake if you give a straight answer on this site its thumbs down. I

Mandy asks…

Do you know of any totally honest people?

I have been very frustrated in many relationships with people when it seems like it is so hard to get an honest, straight up answer from them. Even when speaking with very religious people a conversation can feel like a game of “Twenty Questions” Many people don’t hesitate to tell a lie if confronted about wrongdoing – if they think that they can get away with it. And then there is the dishonesty of being in Denial.
Have people in general just decide that it is okay to play make-believe the whole day?
Or is it just the area I live in?

admin answers:

It would be a lie to say I don( lie, but my lies tend to be big fish story in nature. If asked a question I will give you my honest answer. I really have no verbal filter so I am blunt and say with brutal honesty instead of sugar coating it or a white lie so to speak.

Betty asks…

How do you hire honest people?

In the past I have checked two obvious points:
1) Criminal background check
2) employment history

A problem with checking employment history is former employers usually give little detail about bad experiences due to liability issues. Compounding the problem is the fact that in my old industry I would sometimes hire young people with little background history.

Any general tips for finding good honest people is appreciated.

TIA

admin answers:

There are honesty tests which have been proven valid. These cost from $30-$100 per applicant. Use your search engine to find a reputable company.

These tests are able to detect propensity for lying/cheating based upon internal inconsistencies in the applicant’s answers.

Good luck!

P.S. My wealthy great-grandfather had a much less scientific way. He had a logging crew of 23 men. On the first day for a new hire, he would go into the field. He would wait until the new man had his axe above his shoulder. Then, my grandfather would stand behind and yell, “Lunchtime!”

If the new hire finished his swing into the log, then he had a job. But if the new hire dropped his axe to the ground, then that was the end of his logging career with my great-grandfather. Simple, but effective.

Nancy asks…

Why doesn’t Jesus protect honest people, who are seeking him from being led astray?

Take for instance the Koreshians. If you have ever heard interviews with the people who were involved in the Waco incident, you learn that they all, honestly thought that Koresh was a prophet, and the government attack was the start of the end times. They are all decent people, who were deceived by a gregarious leader, but who all were trying to live in God’s will.

Why doesn’t God help honest people, who are only seeking his will, from being manipulated by liars and thieves?

20,000 Christian denominations indicate that he doesn’t really care.

admin answers:

We all have the sin of weakness, of hearing only what we want to hear and we all have the tendency to take uncomfortable half truths and make them into easier to abide full truths.

I suspect there were many many people who realized that Mr. Koresh was not a prophet, and that he was a dangerous, deceptive man. But by that time, getting out of his clutches might’ve required more energy and courage than they were willing to exert.

I think God does help us if we honestly seek him. If we’re on the wrong track, God eventually lets us know it, especially if we stay in touch with Him through prayer and meditation.

It’s clear that Koresh usurped those people’s free will. But nobody can take your spiritual free will unless you give it to him.

I’m not assigning blame. If there is any to be assigned, it should be spread out to everybody involved, even the State of TX. And the FBI.

Laura asks…

Are there any good, honest people left out there?

I lost my wallet with everything including my driver’s license and my social security card and some of my money while I was out today. I think I dropped it in Fred Meyer’s or Fred Meyer’s parking lot and customer service hasn’t seen it at all. I’m freaking out. Can someone reassure me that there are good honest people out there who will return it if found or are most people selfish enough to take something as important as this?

admin answers:

Yes, but we’re all fat, ugly and insecure.
